From Passion to Pastry – The Beginning of Evegalbakes

Every delicious journey starts with a craving — and for me, it was the craving to create something different. Not just another dessert, but something that surprises people with every bite. That’s how Evegalbakes began — in my home kitchen in Singapore, with a whisk in one hand and an idea in the other.

I’ve always been drawn to desserts that tell a story. Ones that combine textures, cultures, and contrasts. Burnt cheesecake had a mysterious charm to it — rustic, caramelized, yet creamy. Brownies? The ultimate comfort treat. But I wondered: what if I fused both into one?

 


 

The Birth of the Burnt Cheesecake Brownie

After many (many!) test batches, late-night taste tests, and some very honest feedback from friends and family, the burnt cheesecake brownie was born. Fudgy, rich chocolate brownie base. Creamy, smooth cheesecake center. A beautifully burnt top that added depth and a hint of smokiness.

It was unlike anything people had tried before — and that’s when I knew I had something special.

 


Why I Started Baking from Home

Like many small business owners in Singapore, I started baking from home out of passion and practicality. I wanted to stay close to my creations, handcraft each order, and make sure every customer felt the personal touch. No mass production. No shortcuts.

Home-based baking gave me the freedom to:

  • Experiment with flavors (like black sesame tofu or matcha burnt cheesecake brownies!)

  • Connect with my customers personally

  • Create desserts with intention — for birthdays, thank-yous, or self-love treats

 


 

Evegalbakes Today: Still Personal, Still Passionate

Today, Evegalbakes is more than just brownies. It’s a growing community of dessert lovers, loyal customers, and gift-givers who believe in artisan baking. I continue to bake everything fresh to order, using carefully selected ingredients — from premium chocolate to smooth tofu and nutty sesame paste.

Whether it’s your first bite or your tenth order, my goal is the same:
